Gina's Designs Leafy Branches with Birds

Hello friends!  Happy Autumn!  Today I'm sharing a layout with you using Gina's Designs Leafy Branches with Birds.  I didn't give these leaves Autumn colors because where I live the leaves are mostly still green.  We are having a long summer and everything is still beautiful here.  This layout is a special one because of the photos of my daughter's college graduation.  They mark a milestone and a lot of hard work accomplished.  I took these photos of her outside against a rodeo chute gate and I wanted to add a little softness to the layout.  These Leafy Branches remind me of flourishes and of the beautiful trees that were hanging over the chutes where the photo was taken.

To dress up the branches I simply inked them with chalk ink and then added Inka Gold rub to them in two different colors.  I love how it made this layout feel like you were in a beautiful garden somewhere. The pink flowers and soft colors gave this a romantic feel.

Thank you for taking a peek at my layout and for stopping by my blog today!

Happy Harvest Layout with Gina's Designs

Hi everyone! Debbie with you today sharing my Happy Harvest Fall layout using Gina's Designs Laser Cuts and a fun photo I too of the porch decorations in our neighborhood.  This sweet crow caught my eye and I knew there was a scrapbook page waiting to be created with her cute photo on it!

I started this layout by building the background and layering on the photo mats.  The torn mats give it a tattered look which fit the photo perfectly!  I simply inked them and popped them up with cardboard to give them some dimension.  I tucked in a little burlap between the layers  to give it some more depth.

The technique I used for the chipboard is a simple one, acrylic paint, ink, and metallic rubs in several colors.

I stamped a texture on each of the acorns and basket and and layered the acorns around the squirrel and the apples in the basket. When everything was dry I added the metallic rubs to make everything pop.  When this was complete, I embellished the layout with fall colored flowers and leaves.

The great part about all these chipboard pieces is the come in one set with many more pieces to use on several projects!!!  Love this set and you will see more of it in the weeks to come!

Gina's Designs You Make Me Smile Mini Album

Hello friends and welcome to the Prairie Rose Cafe!  Today I'm sharing a mini album I made from scratch.  The cover, spine and back cover are made with some pieces of chipboard I had in my stash.

I started this album out by covering it with patterned paper.  I have several of these older K and Company paper pads with matching embellishments so I decided to start making mini albums with them.  So far I've made 4 or 5, but love the colors on this one the most. I covered the spine with some lacy flower trim.

The technique I used on the chipboard pieces is a several step process but love how it all turned out.  I started out by coating all the pieces with gesso.

Step 2 is to paint with acrylic paint.

Step 3 emboss with a Hologram embossing powder- Hologram embossing powder has a glittery texture to it.

Step 4 is to spray with glimmer mist or your favorite spray and reheat the chipboard while the misting is still wet.  This should complete all your chipboard pieces.

The next step is to decorate the front of your album!

In this photo you can see that I added a little texture with modeling paste and a stencil.

Add your butterflies from the Butterflies & Dragonflies

A few pages on the inside of the mini.  There are several pockets for tags and photos or keepsakes.
